Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and PartWork AI ("PartWork", "we", "us") covering partwork.ai, Studio, Drawing to STEP, our free online tools, and any related software and services (together, "the Service"). By using the Service, uploading a file, or making a purchase, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

If you use the Service for a company or other organization, you agree to these Terms on its behalf and confirm you have authority to do so; "you" then includes that organization.

2. The Service

  • Studio lets you design 3D parts by describing them and editing models you create or upload.
  • Drawing to STEP converts an engineering drawing you upload (a PDF or an image) into a 3D model of one part, delivered as STEP and STL files with a quality report comparing the model to your drawing.
  • Free tools include our file viewers, converters and generators. The embeddable 3D viewer is also covered by the Viewer License.

The Service uses artificial intelligence to read drawings and instructions and to generate models. AI-generated output can be wrong, so section 9 applies to everything the Service produces.

3. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service, and at least 18 to make a purchase. Some features require an account. You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your account credentials confidential
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Telling us promptly about any unauthorized use of your account

4. Purchases and Payments

Studio credits. Paid Studio features are purchased as credits. Credits are consumed per modeling operation, and the number of credits a request will use is shown before you confirm it. We will not charge you more than the amount quoted at that point. Credits have no cash value, are not transferable, and cannot be exchanged for money or used for Drawing to STEP conversions.

Drawing to STEP conversions. Each conversion covers one part. A free check of your drawing sets its tier, and the price is shown before you pay. If a drawing shows more than one part, each part is a separate conversion. Conversions are provided on a best-effort basis: we work to deliver a model that matches your drawing, but we do not guarantee any particular result. A conversion is complete when we deliver the model files and the quality report, including when the report lists assumptions we made or details your drawing did not specify. Delivered files stay available to download for 12 months; keep your own copy.

Payment. Purchases are one-time charges in US dollars, not subscriptions. Payments are processed by our payment processor; we do not receive or store your full card number. Charges appear on your statement as PARTWORK AI. You are responsible for any taxes that apply to your purchase.

5. Refunds

All purchases are final. If something looks wrong with a conversion, contact us at support@partwork.ai within 30 days of delivery. We will look into it and may, at our discretion, correct the model, run the conversion again or offer a refund. Unused credits are not refundable.

Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank; we can usually resolve it faster. Nothing in this section limits any refund right you have under the law that applies to you.

6. Your Content

Ownership. "Your Content" means the drawings, files, prompts and other material you submit, and the models, files and reports the Service produces for you. You keep ownership of Your Content, and we claim no ownership of it.

License to us. You give us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, copy, process and display Your Content only as needed to provide, secure and support the Service for you. That includes processing it with AI models run by our service providers and review by people we authorize to operate the Service. We do not use Your Content to train AI models, we do not sell it, and we do not show it to anyone else unless you share it (for example with a share link). The license ends when Your Content is deleted under our Privacy Policy.

Your promises. For everything you upload, you confirm that:

  • You own it or have the right to use it this way, including any permission needed to have a 3D model made from a drawing that belongs to someone else (for example a customer's or a manufacturer's print)
  • Uploading it does not breach any confidentiality agreement, license or law
  • It is not export-controlled (for example under ITAR or the EAR), classified, or otherwise restricted from being shared with service providers

We may refuse or delete any upload that we believe breaks these Terms. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, tell us at support@partwork.ai with the details and we will look into it.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Break any law or regulation, or infringe anyone's intellectual property or other rights
  • Create or upload content that is illegal, harmful or designed to cause harm
  • Upload malware, or files designed to exploit or disrupt the Service
  • Get around usage limits, payment, bot protection or other security measures
  • Access the Service by automated means other than through APIs we provide, or resell it without our permission
  • Attempt unauthorized access to the Service, its systems or other users' data

8. Our Property

The Service, including its software, design, documentation and branding, is owned by PartWork AI and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not give you any right to it other than to use the Service as described. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.

9. Check Every Model Before You Rely On It

Models produced by the Service may contain errors. Engineering drawings can be ambiguous, incomplete, poorly scanned or internally inconsistent, and AI can misread dimensions, tolerances, notes and views. Our quality report is an aid to your own review, not an inspection, certification or guarantee.

You are responsible for checking every model against your drawing and specifications before you use it for manufacturing, tooling, purchasing, quoting or any other decision that costs money. We strongly recommend 3D printing the part and measuring it first, or having a qualified person review the model, and reviewing each assumption listed in the report. Do not use output from the Service for safety-critical parts unless it has been independently verified by a qualified engineer.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service and everything it produces are provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, PartWork AI disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, title and non-infringement. We do not warrant that any model will match your drawing, be suitable for any manufacturing process or purpose, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PartWork AI will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data, or for the cost of material, machining, tooling, scrap, rework, production or replacement parts made from any model, arising from or related to the Service, even if we were told such damages were possible.

Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or fifty US dollars ($50).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

12. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify PartWork AI against any third-party claim, and the resulting losses, costs and reasonable legal fees, arising from Your Content (including a claim that a drawing you uploaded, or a model made from it, infringes someone's rights), from parts or products you make or sell using output from the Service, or from your breach of these Terms.

13. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end your access, without notice, if we believe you have broken these Terms or your use harms other users, us or third parties. Sections 5, 6 (your promises), 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 15, 16 and 17 survive termination.

14. Changes

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms and will change the "Last updated" date when we do. Updated Terms apply from that date; a purchase is governed by the Terms in effect when you made it. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict of law rules. If you have a problem with the Service, please contact us first; most issues are resolved that way. If a dispute cannot be resolved within 30 days, it will be decided exclusively by the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. Either party may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court.

Nothing in this section removes any protection you have under the consumer law of the country where you live.

16. Export Controls and Sanctions

You will comply with all export control and sanctions laws that apply to your use of the Service. You may not use the Service if you are located in, or are a resident of, a country or region subject to comprehensive US sanctions, or if you are on a US government restricted-party list.

17. General

You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign or transfer them, in whole or in part, together with your account and any unused credits, to any affiliate, successor, or acquirer of all or substantially all of our assets or business, or in a corporate reorganization. These Terms, the Privacy Policy and any terms shown at a purchase are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. We are not responsible for delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
