1. Who We Are
PartWork AI ("we", "our", "us"), based in New Jersey, USA, operates partwork.ai, Studio, Drawing to STEP and our free online tools (the "Service"), and is the data controller for the personal information described here. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and your choices. Our Terms of Service also apply.
2. Information We Collect
Information you give us
- Account information: email address and name
- Design prompts and other instructions you type
- Files you upload, and the models and designs you create
- Drawings you upload to Drawing to STEP, including anything shown on them (such as title blocks, company names, part numbers and notes), the email address you give with them, and the models, reports and images of the drawing we make from them
- Purchase details from our payment processor: your name, email, billing country and what you bought (never your full card number)
- Messages you send our support team

- Usage data (pages visited, features used)
- IP address and general location

3. How We Use Your Information
- Provide the Service: run your design requests and convert your drawings into models
- Check the quality of conversions. People on our team may review a drawing, its model and its report before it is delivered
- Process payments and deliver what you bought, including emailing you your files
- Diagnose defects and improve the quality of the Service
- Send service and support messages
- Analyze how the Service is used
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse and malware
- Meet legal, tax and accounting obligations
If you are in Europe or the UK, we rely on these legal bases: performing our contract with you (providing the Service and what you bought), our legitimate interests (security and improving the Service), your consent (analytics cookies), and legal obligations (tax and accounting records).
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on cloud infrastructure, encrypted in transit and at rest. Uploaded drawings are scanned for malware. Access is limited to your account and to the members of our team who operate the Service and need it to do their work.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We share information only as described here:
- Service providers: companies that help us run the Service, such as cloud hosting, email delivery, malware scanning, bot and abuse protection, and the internal tools our team uses to review conversions. They may use your information only to provide their services to us.
- AI processing: For design requests in Studio, AI providers receive your instruction and a description of the part, not your uploaded files or model geometry. For Drawing to STEP, your drawing and the model we build from it are processed by an AI model through our service providers, solely to carry out your conversion.
- Analytics: Google Analytics receives usage data about visits to this website and Studio, as described in section 7.
- Payments: Stripe processes payments. We never receive or store your full card number.
- Legal requirements: when required by law, or to protect our rights, users or others
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show your files to anyone else unless you share them.
We do not use your drawings, designs or prompts to train AI models.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your information, including your drawings, sooner than section 8 says
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Receive your data in a structured format
- Withdraw consent where we rely on it
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@partwork.ai. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
8. Data Retention
- Drawing to STEP: drawings you upload, and the models, reports and images of the drawing we make from them, are kept for 90 days and then deleted, or sooner if you ask. If you buy the converted part, its files and the images of your drawing in its quality report are kept with your purchase for 12 months and then deleted.
- Studio: files you upload are deleted after 30 days, and exported files after 1 day. Models you generate are kept so you can reopen a project, until you delete them. Deleting a project removes its stored files, not just the listing.
- Account information is kept while your account exists.
- Purchase records (what was bought, when, the amount and your acceptance of our Terms) are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires, at least 7 years, even after the files are deleted.
Server logs used for security and diagnosis are kept for a limited period and then deleted.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and if we learn that we have, we will delete it promptly.
10. International Data Transfers
We are based in the United States, and your information is processed there and in other countries where our service providers operate. Where the law requires it, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as standard contractual clauses.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the "Last updated" date, and we will tell account holders by email about any material change.
