Stretch
Scale a part along one axis (non-uniform scaling)
Overview
The Stretch tool scales a solid along a single axis, making it longer, shorter, taller, or wider. Unlike Extend, this scales existing geometry — circles become ellipses, proportions change. Available through natural language only.
Parameters
| Parameter | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Plane | Fixed plane that stays in place | XY |
| Position | Where to anchor (min, mid, max, or value) | min |
| Direction | Which side to stretch | positive |
| Amount | Distance to add or scale factor | 1 in |
| Mode | Add distance or multiply by factor | distance |
How to Use
1
Describe the stretch
Tell the AI which direction to stretch and by how much.
2
Specify the anchor
Indicate which end stays fixed (optional).
Natural Language Alternatives
Instead of using the tool, you can type these commands:
Make the part 2 inches tallerStretch the width by 50%Scale the height to doubleMake it twice as long in the X direction
Tips
- Stretch scales geometry — circles become ellipses
- Use Extend instead if you want to preserve feature shapes
- Anchor at one end to stretch from that point
