Polygon

Draw regular polygons (triangle, hexagon, etc.)

Overview

The Polygon tool creates regular polygons with 3 to 12 equal sides. Size can be specified by circumscribed diameter or flat-to-flat distance. Rotation angle can be adjusted.

How to Use

Select the Polygon tool

Click Polygon in the sketch toolbar.

Choose number of sides

Select from 3 (triangle) to 12 sides.

Set size method

Choose Diameter or Flat-to-Flat sizing.

Enter size and rotation

Set the size and optional rotation angle.

Position the polygon

Click on the sketch plane to place the center.

Natural Language Alternatives

Instead of using the tool, you can type these commands:

Draw a hexagon with 1 inch flats
Sketch a triangle with 2 inch sides
Create an octagon 50mm across

Tips

Use Flat-to-Flat for hex nuts and bolt heads
Rotation adjusts the orientation in 15° increments
Hexagons are the most common for hardware features
